The Nettle of Bombay
The Nettle of Bombay (De Brandnetel van Bombay) is a four-part podcast series about the remarkable life of Jeanne Devos. Strong-willed, uncompromising, and anything but an ordinary nun, Jeanne Devos is a Flemish icon of solidarity and resistance.
For more than 50 years, she fought in India against the exploitation of domestic workers. Through intimate testimonies, personal letters, and unique archival material, the series paints a compelling and deeply personal portrait of a woman who, well into her nineties, never stopped standing up for justice.
A podcast by Sofie Hanegreefs and Roel Nollet. (The Redhorse Collective) The series was broadcast on VRT/Radio 1-Zandman and was produced with the support of Sabam for Culture.
